This page explains how SANG GmbH uses cookies and similar technologies on www.sanguniverse.com, how you can control them, and how to exercise your data protection rights. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognise your device during its period of validity. We use the word “cookies” to cover similar technologies such as pixels, tags, local storage and software development kits.

2. YOUR CHOICE

Swiss law requires us to inform you about cookies and to let you refuse them (Article 45c of the Swiss Telecommunications Act and the FADP); the law of the European Union and the United Kingdom requires your prior consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary. We apply the stricter standard to every visitor: cookies that are not strictly necessary are placed only with your prior consent. On your first visit, a banner allows you to “Accept all”, “Reject all”, with the same ease, or “Customise” your choices by category. Continuing to browse without making a choice does not constitute consent; in that case only strictly necessary cookies are placed. Your choice is kept for 12 months, after which we ask you again. You can change your mind at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

3. THE COOKIES WE USE

Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required). They enable the Website to function: shopping bag, checkout, customer account login, security and fraud prevention, load balancing, and memory of your language, currency and cookie choices. Examples: Shopify session and cart cookies (_shopify_y, _shopify_s, cart, secure_customer_sig, localization, _tracking_consent). Duration: session to 12 months.

Audience measurement cookies (consent required). They tell us how visitors use the Website (pages viewed, time spent, errors) so that we can improve it. Example: Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_[●]), configured with IP anonymisation. Duration: 13 months maximum.

Personalisation cookies (consent required). They remember your preferences and recently viewed works in order to present relevant content and recommendations. Duration: up to 13 months.

Advertising and social media cookies (consent required). They allow us and our partners to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and to show you SANG content on social networks and partner sites, based on your browsing. Examples: Meta Pixel (_fbp), LinkedIn Insight Tag (li_sugr, bcookie), Google Ads (_gcl_au), Klaviyo (__kla_id). Duration: 3 to 13 months. These partners may process data as independent controllers under their own policies.

Third-party content (consent required). Embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo) and maps place cookies only once you have accepted the relevant category or clicked to play.

4. MANAGING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER

You can also configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies (Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge each provide instructions in their help pages). Refusing strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from placing an order. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of advertising cookies.

5. YOUR RIGHTS OVER YOUR DATA

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where applicable, the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • obtain information about and access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
  • have your data deleted, where there is no longer a legitimate reason to keep them;
  • restrict processing while a request is being examined;
  • object at any time to processing for direct-marketing purposes, including profiling, and, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interest;
  • receive the data you have provided to us in a commonly used electronic format and have them transmitted to another controller (portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

We reply within 30 days of receipt; this period may be extended for complex or numerous requests, in which case we inform you. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask for additional information. Requests are free of charge unless manifestly unfounded or excessive.

7. COMPLAINTS

If, after contacting us, you consider that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence in the EEA or the UK.
